Oxbow River with Poem

Rate: 9 Flag

  34[1]

   The River Goes

   its roundabout way

   as the farmer's tractor

   slips away

   to nothing

   in the wake

   of blue-green

   beanfield

   which curves

   rimlessly

   toward horizon

   where a single

   elm tree

   shades a porch

   and a woman sits

   paring apples

   making of each

   red-ripe skin

   one unbroken

   spiral string

            Happy spring, everyone!

Beautiful picture and equally beautiful descriptions. Very peaceful. However, you might need to come tell Wisconsin that it's spring.
