Lately, all I could think of was how the heck I am gonna get out of this heat. Sun rises at 5:30 AM and at  8 temperature's already up to 35 degrees celsius. When did this place turn into Sahara desert?

My shift at work starts at 10AM and  just thinking about it makes me hyperthermic already.. So I decided to go to work at 7AM instead. Too early, yes, but at least I won't be fried when I get in the office.  Since there aren't any people around still, except for the lovely security lady guard and the janitor, I decided to wander into OS. I've been here for quite some time now and made quite a few friends (hey there tink and cap'n). I love the writing and I love wrting though  not sure if writing loves me.

Okay, so going back to the heat, the thing I love about summer is we get to visit the beaches! And it got me thinking... A few years ago all my countrymen were thinking of was how to get to the US or in any other country for that matter as long as it's not here. This place spells hell to most. I don't blame 'em. We're poor, officials are all corrupt and the system is based on corruption. But then, the government finally did something right: they marketed the tourist spots even us locals didn't know existed.

We're an archipelago and so what we do have in plenty are beaches! Name it we got it: white sand, off white sand, pebble beach, rocky beach, etc. I think just about every type of beach is here. And finally we are loving our country. Yeah, it may be a superficial reason why Filipinos are finally appreciating their country, but hey, we can start from there right?Plus, there's Manny Pacquiao who brought pride to Pinoys. But that's another story.

On May 10, we are going to select another president. Our last few presidents were mediocre at best. Don't even get me started on Ferdinand Marcos! He's brilliant however,  got himself an Imelda Marcos for a wife.

Most Filipinos still dream of the American dream, which is by the way, my dream as well, but I am staying put and see what will happen. I heard the show's just about to start.
