*I keeps hitting some key that makes the page refresh...I will quickly write a VERY short post since this is the third time it has refreshed :-(
So I'm going to quickly say good job Illinois on supporting your workers.
I caught this story on my way out the door from work tonight...
Bank Of American pulled the credit line of a certain factory which had to lay off its workers in turn. So said workers have been staging a sit-in strike. The Governor of Illinois spoke with them today...and just annouced that Illinois is pulling all dealings with BOA!
Way to give one of the Big 3 of finance (is it still 3 since Citigroup had to be saved?) a TAKE THAT!
Off topic BOA has been pulling credit lines like crazy. Granted I didn't need a 15000.00 dollar limit on my Visa but a heads up before slicing the limit in half and jacking the rate would have been nice.
Plus they have my mortgage I got from the now undercompany, and criminally moronic, Countrywide. I wonder how this will all play out.
*Edit* Hmm...it seems the Governor just jumped on Mayor Daly of Chicago's bandwagon....regardless I'm glad it happened.
The Governor officially gets a pass for his terrible hairstyle for this awesome manuever to support the workers and people througout Illinois and put pressure on BOA. An entire state government leveraging itself for its people...Pure AWESOME!

This just arrived in my inbox:
Last month, Bank of America accepted $25 billion in taxpayer funds as part of the Wall Street Bailout. Now they're refusing to release lines of credit and causing hundreds to lose their jobs. In Chicago, workers making energy efficient windows and doors at the Republic Windows and Doors plant came to work only to be told their factory was shutting down and they would not be receiving the pay owed to them.1
Hundreds of these laid-off workers have occupied their factory and are refusing to leave without receiving the benefits they rightly deserve -- they're staying in the office day and night in their quest for justice.
Tell Bank of America and Congressional leaders to ensure that the Bailout Program be used to provide workers and companies with lines of credit to save jobs.

Paws up. (Sasha is small for a German Shepherd at 69.5 pounds, but a lot bigger than she was when she was a little handful of bear cub back in her baby weasel days!)
