This morning I woke up and it was 30 degrees Fahrenheit. I would have been depressed about it, except that I looked out my window and it was insanely beautiful. In LA, after it rains, all of the smog disappears and from the poolhouse I'm sleeping in, you can see all the way from the Hollywood Hills to Catalina Island off the coast of Long Beach. It's just this phantom island in the distance, and you can only see it on glitteringly cold mornings like these.
On cold mornings like these, I like to make a cup of Earl Grey tea and enjoy it. The air is fresh, and the insides of my lungs turn into ice crystals. You need to listen to the right music to get you in the mood, too. There's really nothing like a good soundtrack to give the day some character. This morning, it was the Garden State Soundtrack.
In the summertime, I usually like to listen to songs from Pulp Fiction. The sexy sultry violence of it all.
In the spring, the Marie Antoinette soundtrack makes everything sort of innocent and exciting. Also, the Empire Records soundtrack. Young and bright eyed.
In the fall, I like to listen to the Juno soundtrack. I think because a lot of the songs remind me of things I'd like to hear around the campfire. If I liked camping.

Hmmm, for me winter songs consist of random music hall songs. (Because the show I am a part of happens during this time, and all the songs are Victorian/vaudevillian.)
Two more storms to go!
I've dug out my Neil Young...
