Why Do We Fight?

Rate: 7 Flag

You were born there

And I elsewhere

You are dark, I am light

So we fight.

You have so much

That I cannot touch

You're from day - and I, night

so we fight.

Who says we should?

What's bad or what's good?

They will say, we'll obey

and we'll fight.

You I don't know

You must be my foe

Give us guns, shining bright

so we fight.

When will we see

I'm you, you're me

All are one, see the light

Then don't fight.

What is this line

The map to define?

You stay left, I stay right

So we fight.

Maybe we'll see

In time finally

Those who lead are not right

And not fight.

Thanks M. I haven't written poetry for ages, but have been inspired by some of the posts I've been reading. maybe I'll try some more now!
Enjoyed this poem, you strip it down to what it really is, and how stupid it can be to hate for those reasons .. R
Very nice I loved this!

This was well executed...you can express so much like this. More please!
Excellent both in form and content. Very relevant to present life and times.
Frankly fellow OS folk - I'm humbled and deeply grateful for your thoughts.
