Through the years she stayed  with him for all the reasons that she believed in.  She wanted me to make better choices and I did. Yes, I understand, I know that she did what she did to survive

Through the biggest loss in my life,  she wanted to hug me ,she wanted to hold me but all she could do was whisper across the room, "You know how sorry I am." Yes, I understand, I know that she did what she did to survive.

Through her quiet acceptance she  taught me to feel everything because she tried to feel nothing.  She now  replies with tears in her voice when I tell her I love her.  Yes, I understand, I know that she does what she does to survive.
