Vengeful Steak - for JK Brady and Safe_Bet

Rate: 8 Flag

This sauce, a variation of a Bobby Flay classic, will go well with any grilled steak.  I prefer Filet Mignon, but a savagely tenderized slab of flank steak would do nicely as well.

Tangerine Habanero Sauce for Vengeful Steak

2 cups fresh squeezed tangerine juice (best if fruit is stolen from a the neighbor you hate's tree - a little added vengeance )
1 tablespoon honey
1 Habanero chile
1/4 teaspoon salt

Combine the tangerine juice and honey in a small sauce pan and place over medium high heat. Cut a slit into the habanero and place the pepper in the juice mixture. Bring the juice, honey and habanero to a boil and simmer until its reduced to about 1/2 cup. Remove from heat, remove chile pepper (hide the evidence), and spoon over freshly grilled steak.

And since Habaneros are the hottest chilies there are, if you don't mention that you included them when you serve the sauce, there's a little extra bonus vengeance.  Not to mention they do play a sinister helpful role in your digestive health. (Yeah, it's a theme today)

In reference to you previous post, if this doesn't move me, nothing will. Rated.
oh yeah....vengeful indeed. I know just who to serve this to. ;)
I don't eat a lot of meat, but I love anything spicy and with fruit. The vengeance is an added bonus. :)
i read this earlier, but was pulled outside by the wonderboy, who needed me to make a juice box run and didn't have time to comment. this looks fabulous! what a wonderful combination of sweetness and heat - :)
