Bio
I am a liberal hiding out in Idaho/Eastern Washington possibly the most conservative area of the U.S. I taught preschool handicapped children, kindergarten, second, fourth and sixth grades as well as seventh, and eighth grade and high school. I taught and was a single houseparent at a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed children and young sex offenders. ************************************** I coached boys and girls basketball, baseball and golf for over thirty years. I've had 106 foster kids, operated a runaway shelter near the Canadian border and operated a weekly newspaper of my own creation. I played college baseball, and lived in Mexico for ten months in my young 20’s which changed my entire outlook on life. ************************************** I have been to 48 of the 50 states and all but six major league baseball parks. I was a back-to-the earth hippie who lived on a commune for two years before the goats ate my 2.5 acre garden. I lost my first teaching job on a coin flip when the school levy failed and one other teacher and I were tied for the last layoff spot. I have been across Canada via rail twice and all over the country using Amtrak. I have been married so many times I have rice burns on my face and don’t smoke much dope anymore. ************************************** I don’t drink enough, think George Bush is the worst president in history, and won’t allow Fox News to be broadcast in my home. I am to the left of most liberals, moving toward promoting complete anarchy. I currently am self-employed and provide mental health services to six adult schizophrenic clients. I cheat at golf and have won five poker tournaments on the Internet. ************************************* My favorite political quote is the one at Robert Kennedy Jr.'s grave site: "It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance." ************************************** We are all Ripples of some sort. ************************************** http://idahospud44.wordpress.com/ *************************************** 'Life is very short/ And there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend.'

In order for one to understand the current political climate, it is helpful if not crucial, to go back to the 1960's in America. Dwight D. Eisenhower, a true war hero who lead D-day, the key battle that broke the back of the Nazi military and allowed us to free… Read full post »

Well, come on mothers throughout the land,
Pack your boys off to Vietnam.
Come on fathers, don't hesitate,
Send 'em off before it's too late.
Be the first one on your block
To have your boy come home in a box.
