Clinton and Eminem

Eminem once said in an interview, “the president gets his cock sucked, and I'm supposed to care what I write?” What Mr. Mathers does not understand is that America is not North Korea. The government is not the only entity with influence; and there are all sorts of private entities, includ… Read full post »

Spiritual Reality and Material Reality

I have been asked on another forum about my spiritual experiences, so I am going to list some of them here.

In 1995, I had a beautiful romantic relationship with a woman named Michelle who finished Harvard in 3 years and who was very poetic and soulful. In 2000, I… Read full post »

Hubris of Methodology

It is common to hear the religiously inclined people to see the intellectuals and the scientists as having hubris. There is a mechanism that keeps sneaking in hubris into these pursuits, and that is as follows:

The definition of reality as "what can be proven."

This methodology puts the cart… Read full post »

Anger and Love in Relationships

I have discovered a very strange thing. A lot of people are angry at their family and their relatives, but they still love them. This poses a quandary as to how such situations should be dealt with.

I had a girlfriend who was raised by her aunt, and she kept… Read full post »

What Earth Forgot

There are many people who believe in being “down to earth” or in bringing people “down to earth.” These people have an inadequate understanding of what the Earth is.

The Earth's crust is actually quite thin. Under it is a much larger volume of magma; and the earth's crust itsel… Read full post »

Parallels in American Politics

Clinton had a lot in common with Nixon, and Obama has a lot in common with Reagan. In fact, the events of 1970s and 1980s were a mirror image of the events of 1990s to today.

Nixon was a Republican moderate who led the country at the time that the… Read full post »

Natures and Middle East

The error that many people with gentler natures make is in assuming that other people are naturally as good as they are. This leads these people to be completely unprepared for what the people with more brutal natures dish out, resulting in them becoming these people's victims or punching bags.… Read full post »

Intellectuals and Freedom

In Texas and Oklahoma especially, there is a lot of agitation against the intellectuals. I ask this: How many intellectuals are there in Texas and Oklahoma?

I am reminded of Poland. Although the country has maybe 800 Jewish people, the whole country is viciously anti-semitic. What damage can 800 peopl… Read full post »

Do Ends Justify the Means?

A major focus of disagreement in political thought concerns Machiavelli's statement that the ends justify the means. I seek to solve this issue.

People are responsible for what they do; and that means both the ends and the means. Wrongful ends or wrongful means become judgeable. Doing wrong things,… Read full post »

Why I Am Not a Marxist

As a result of corruption on Wall Street and elsewhere, there has been a resurgence of interest in the Marxist ideology. Being mostly-left in my political views, I would be expected to welcome this trend. I do not.

I spent my first 12 years in the former Soviet Union, with… Read full post »

Humility and Buddhism

If you want to learn humility, learn it from the Buddhists.

For a long time I was against humility. I now realize that the problem was not with humility itself, but with the nasty and hypocritical manner in which it is being taught. Most people who claim to instil humility… Read full post »

What Does God Want From Us?

This post is for people who believe in God. If you do not believe in God, feel free to skip it.

The question I ask is, What does God want from us? And to this there have been any number of responses.

Probably the least plausible response is that… Read full post »

William Alford (https://www.facebook.com/wralford/posts/10152235002561933) claims to refute Marxist ideology in 1000 words. Not being a Marxist, I am not affected by this one way or another; but there is another ideology that is more dangerous than Marxism and that requires refutation in less than 10… Read full post »

Errors of Freud

Sigmund Freud has had a vast influence on society; and not all of this influence has been rightful. The reason is that he mistook the memories of childhood sexual abuse for erotic fantasy; and based on this he made several false conclusions – that children are sexual; that women are an… Read full post »

Who Deserves Credit For America?

A claim I've heard from American conservatives is that America was meant to be for people who are “European, Judeo-Christian and for free markets.” Reality has proven these people wrong.

The Chinese built America's railroads. The blacks have staffed its plantations. The Hindus have been… Read full post »

Having known - and been close to - many women who have experienced domestic violence, I agree with feminists that violence against women is a hideous problem, and that as much must be done as is possible to correct it. I put forth these ideas for people who are involved in… Read full post »

Obama and Muslims

What the anti-American people involved in Islam do not realize is that Obama is the least anti-Islamic president that America is going to get. Most Americans hate Islam and would gladly see the Middle East go up in flames. Obama serves as a moderating force for this tendency in American politics.… Read full post »

Nazism, Jews and Personality Disorders

In their attempt to prevent the atrocities of World War II from re-occurring, one wrongful direction has been to explain them as a result of Hitler having narcissistic or psychopathic personality disorder. There are two things wrong with that claim.

One is that Hitler does not own atrocity, and… Read full post »

Antisemites and Crucifixion

The main line given by anti-semites within Christianity is that the Jews crucified Jesus. Whether or not the Jews crucified Jesus in 33 AD, none of the Jews now living were alive at the time. Which means that they should not be getting blamed for it.

Another line is… Read full post »

Nihilism and Spirituality

The empiricist definition of reality is “what can be proven.” The problem with this definition is that by itself it leads to nihilism. If reality is what can be proven, then if something cannot be proven to just one person, it is not real. Not much can be proven to a… Read full post »

Liberty and Diversity

There are many people who claim to believe in freedom, but are against diversity. These people do not know what they are talking about. Real freedom will always result in diversity. America and Rome

One claim frequently made among Christian conservatives is that America is another Roman Empire, and that liberties afforded to Americans cannot last.

This claim is simply wrong.

Players and False Advertising

Most situations of abuse are also situations of false advertising. The woman, for the most part, won't go into a relationship knowing that she is going to get beaten, or to have her partner running down her character and make her feel like the lowest thing on earth. In most of… Read full post »

Relationships and Character

The worst relationship behavior I've seen is that of persecution. The partner – in most cases the male, though I've seen women doing it too – decides, for one or another reason, that the other partner is a bad person. He then starts running down the other partner's character and makes… Read full post »
