Increase traffic has become the buzzword of about every website owner alive.  Most everyone seems to be jockeying for top rankings in the search engines, especially on Google.  The so-called internet gurus say to do this or do that, and you will increase traffic to your website by hundreds of percentages.  There is a lot of misinformation floating around about increasing traffic to your website and the SERP (Search Engine Results Pages) in general.  Google gets giddy about all of the inaccurate information, and for some reason when things get repeated over and over again, people latch onto it as fact.

If you really want to increase traffic, take some things with a grain of salt.  Firstly, don’t believe everything you read about Google.  If you do believe everything, it might just be that you are not thinking on your own.  Even if you read something about backlinks that almost every place you have visited echoes, still question it.  And you might have fallen for this trap: “Don’t try to reinvent the wheel.  Just keep building backlinks, and over time you will increase traffic and search engine rankings.”  Over time is too long for me to wait.  Don’t be try something of your own and try out unconventional methods.  Afraid of ending up in the sandbox?  Please don't fret; there are means to make your way from out of the sandbox, and you can even continue aggressively building links while in the sandbox.  It isn’t unheard of to come straight out of the sandbox onto page one ;-).

You can increase traffic and rankings in a more efficient, faster, and effective way by going after some great links from high PR sites.  And did you know that links get stronger and stronger when you have backlinks to your backlinks to your backlinks?  I'm being repetitive for a purpose, yes you build backlinks to your backlinks.  On several levels.

If you are seriously thinking about increasing traffic, you will get crazy with it and do something different.  You must think outside the box.  I’m not going to tell you everything you need to do to increase traffic, because if I did, it would become common knowledge, everyone would do it, and it would become less effective.  Contrary to popular belief, you must become an inventor of sorts to stay in the SEO field for the long haul.  Always be learning, always be one step ahead and you will easily be able to increase traffic at will.
