I get tired of hearing people say, “Europe is so progressive. Why can’t we be like Europe? Everything’s better in Europe.” The reason Europe appears “ahead” is because they left all of their problems behind them when they abandoned the colonies they raped the shit out of. The skeletons of their past sins lie conveniently on other continents. Ours are still right here, because America is a former colony.
Let’s take a quick walk around the globe and examine some parts of the world that European countries once occupied. South Asia, pretty poor. The Middle East, totally backwards. Latin America, serious problems. All of Africa, ENTIRELY FUCKED! What do all these areas have in common? 100 years ago they were getting raped in every way possible by Europeans. And how convenient, the rapists pulled out, and left these poor countries curled up with daddy issues and child support in the form of World Bank loans that will never be settled.
America does not have that option. All our injustices happened right here. Why aren’t we as far as Europe? Because Europe didn’t have slavery on their home soil 150 years ago. They didn’t have systematic segregation 50 years ago. But they had plenty of both on their colonies. Remember Ghandi? That was British he was fighting. Where are the British now? Not in fucking India. How’s India been doing? Let’s just say, Mother Teresa doesn’t spend 30 years and die in a country, because the streets are clean. How about South Africa? The only African country where white people stuck around to rule was the last country in the world to have legal segregation.
Apartheid from all this (pun intended), it now becomes logical that the most progressive countries in the world are the colonies that came out winners: America, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. Unless we saddle Europe with their past colonial baggage, there is no comparison. So let’s stop using Europe as a benchmark and keep ahead of the real competition, our red friends in the Far East.
