Arrow: Part 4

archer

in spite of

your aim

after the graceful

soaring ends

every arrow

loses its dream

and sinks

shaken

but sadly euphoric

piercing through

to the other side

of the surface.

(archer

with your unstrung bow

and arrows dormant

on the verge

of the urgent hour

at the critical edge

of the vast recipient

chalice

of the liquid

and rhythmic

reaping  of the waves...)

archer

barefoot

and now close

to trails end

you emerge

as if

from the depths

of a dream

to gasp

at the transformation

at the expansion

and contraction

at the wavering

substance

and empty

transience

of time's passage.

you gasp

holding your breath

at the precious energy

easily expended

on the barren

and sandy crescent,

at the absorption

and thus

incremental emptying

of all — of it

as you enter

and slide

calmly

beneath the edge.

(archer

with your unstrung bow

and arrows dormant

on the verge

of the urgent hour

at the critical edge

of the vast recipient

chalice

of the liquid

and rhythmic

reaping  of the waves...)

neither asleep

nor awake

something

gracefully errant

falls with you

through

the abyss.

Linda:Just returned from a week on Tortuga (sparsely populated Venz. island). Saw three waterspouts (tornadoes over water). Very unusual. Climate change! Anyway, Your post today moved me to say something, as Big Mama Thornton says, "in my own way". That's what the struggles all about sometimes, isn't¡¿!?
"Please remember: to be careful at whom you point the finger of blame; because three (of your own) fingers will be pointing back at you"

Loved these words in your Bio!

Great post, and I hadn't heard Big Mama in years. Thank you!
¡Thanxxxxx to everyone for stopping by!

Particularly markinjapan for noticing this "Bird" ~on the wire~ today, and giving me a "shout"...

Also Linda and Scanner who dropped by the other day...

And (well overdue) thanx to ~ume~ who broke the ice on my first post... when I still had no idea which buttons to push or how too respond...

Not new to writing, but woefully new to blogging, please, forgive this little bird when, occasionally, it tries to fly through a clean, clear but closed window!!! Thud¡¿
something/gracefully errant/falls with you/through/the abyss.

All the transformation here, the sinking and completing of mission, the rising and emptying...I'm so happy to be lost in it. Thank you so much!
