13.1 Billion Years Ago, a Star Died...

 ...and last Thursday we finally got to see it.   The star,  romantically titled GRB 090423, is the most distant object ever seen -- so distant , that it's taken light all those billions of years to reach us, travelling at -- well, at the speed of light.
