Bio
I am a single 30-something from Cape Town, South Africa. I'm in IT (I believe for sins committed in a past life), currently working in the public sector but for many years previously in the private sector. I adore reading and am a proudly acknowledged book slut. I like being on my own and have made peace with the fact that I'm one of those people who live in their own heads. I like knowing stuff simply for the sake of knowing. I love cats and am an unashamed sucker for any cute kitty pic.

Beautiful Cape Town

Rate: 1 Flag

I received an email today with a few gorgeous pictures of Cape Town, so I thought I'd share.

Cape Town at sunset, taken from across the bay, probably from Bloubergstrand or maybe Milnerton. The new Cape Town stadium (built for the FIFA 2010 World Cup) is on the right.

Cape Town at night

A shot of Table Mountain from across the bay. To the right of Table Mountain is Signal Hill (the pointy hill).

Table Mountain (1)

An aerial shot of Cape Town CBD, and the surrounding suburbs that nestle up to the foot of Table Mountain. Look for the three white towers at the foot of the mountain. I live across the road from the left-hand tower. :-)

 Cape Town CBD

Another aerial shot of the city. Cape Town stadium is in the foreground (to the left). Also visible is Table Bay Harbour (extreme left), Table Mountain, Signal Hill, Devil's Peak (to the left of Table Mountain) and various City Bowl and Atlantic Seaboard suburbs.

CT Stadium

A sight I never tire of. Judging from the angle, I think this was taken from Signal Hill.

I'm just now catching up on my favourite posters...I have been overwhelmed with much minutia and gravitas. So, thanks so much for these beautiful photos and also the one of the new stadium (my first viewing)...it makes me quite homesick! My cousin sent me a set of photos taken in Cape Town in the 1950's....that was strange!
