Is there a reason that RFID tags are better/more useful than plain-old barcodes?
Good question, sleepy. One example is the richness of what RFID can do. First, RFID stands for Radio Frequency IDentity) and can be “read” without having to physically scan it, the way a barcode has to be read with a laser scanner. So a whole shopping cart full of items could be scanned in an instant. Or the inventory in the whole store could be continuously monitored.
