
Some of you may be familiar with the famous 1769 miniature portrait of Marie Antoinette by Joseph Ducreux. The portrait was sent to the Dauphin of France, so that he could see what his future queen looked like... before he married her. Now, what amuses me about this portrait, isn't the portrait at all... but rather the artist.
I decided to share two self-portraits of the artist- because really, you shouldn't take yourself too seriously... you just might lose your head.
The above portrait can be found in the Getty Center in LA, while the one below hangs in the Louvre in Paris, France.
