.....................................................

And I will tell you of the wrestle which I had before God, before I received a remission of my sins. Behold, I went to hunt beasts in the forests;

And my soul hungered;

and I kneeled down before my Maker,

and I cried unto him in mighty prayer

and supplication for mine own soul;

and all the day long did I cry unto him; yea, and when the night came I did still raise my voice high that it reached the heavens.

§  Enos, 1:2–4.

book of mormon...

........................................

There is a Mormon running for President, I see. Running strong. An interesting simulacrum of a man, physically perfect, morally devoted,    a bit clunky and inhuman at times, but…well, that was just like my friend Cliff, who had 3 beautiful sons, an amazing (Non-Mormon, alas) wife, suffered a divorce, and killed himself last year by taking a knife to his throat.

simulacrum of a simulacrum, a dear man, my conscience...

  zyx

He was a helluva party companion in the mideigthies, but then I lost touch, and he reappeared in the late 90’s as a Mormon…

Relgion for presidents? Hope they got faith in the E pluribus unum, all I gotta say, til I know more.

Those are my political views on who becomes my next President. The last one who impressed me was Obama, in bits and pieces, when he is not obviously being practical to the point of compromise. Which is needed, but never impressive.  FDR is impressive. Lincoln is impressive. Able to make an impression on a guy like me who needs his alpha male leader to be someone in , but not of, the pack.

I foresee a lot of  negotiation , between Mr . Obama and  the Pirate Wimmin  , the movement of chick power that flares and falls occasionally, but never fails to inspire.

To picture him as a naked cabin boy is a pretty big ‘no no’.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I suggested Dylan’s  “thunder on the mountain” for a theme for this lurching drunken off the top of the head movement, this Pirate wimmin thing.  But now , upon further reflection, I offer a Dylan song from the end of the 70’s,  “Where are you tonight: Journey through dark heat”.  Dylan went insane soon after, became a Fundamentalist Christian in the morning of America, the 1980’s.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Well here are the lyrics…edited…

There’s a woman I long to touch and I miss her so much
But she’s drifting like a satellite

There’s a babe in the arms of a woman in a rage
And a longtime golden-haired stripper onstage
And she winds back the clock and she turns back the page
Of a book that no one can write
Oh, where are you tonight?

…………………………………………………………………………..

The truth was obscure, too profound and too pure
To live it you have to explode
In that last hour of need, we entirely agreed
Sacrifice was the code of the road

There’s a million dreams gone, there’s a landscape being raped
As her beauty fades and I watch her undrape
I won’t but then again, maybe I might
Oh, if I could just find you tonight

If you don’t believe there’s a price for this sweet paradise
Remind me to show you the scars

There’s a new day at dawn and I’ve finally arrived
If I’m there in the morning, baby, you’ll know I’ve survived
I can’t believe it, I can’t believe I’m alive
But without you it just doesn’t seem right
Oh, where are you tonight?

As for this 1980’s nostalgia, here I am graduating high school in 1985, sort of:

  Snapshot_20111109_1

It was a time to chase Promise, and never catch her, til the end of the decade, a perfect 4.0 at a community college, ready for the State university, the fabled University of CT, a party school but also a place good learning could be pursued, if a fella only had the motivation.

I had the motive to party.

I partied with a big big mouth and was kicked out of bars continuously.

Always alone, a specter, a weird fleshy ghostchild  suffering anachronism, for..i had not yet all the world’s information at my fingertips (as I do presently)

nor any overarching paradigm to fit it into.

…………………………………………………………….

Tonight, the pirate wimmin paradigm is my latest.

So I wish to learn at the lovely feet of the unleashed wimmin.

Anything to help.

oh but now, that i am complete or a close approxixamation, comes

these words..

from the same late seventies..

 She wakes him up
Forty-eight hours later the sun is breaking
Near broken chains, mountain laurel and rolling rocks
She's begging to know what measures he now will be taking
He's pulling her down and she's clutching on to his long golden locks.
Gentlemen, he said I don't need your organization, I've shined your shoes
I've moved your mountains and marked your cards
But Eden is burning either brace yourself for elimination
Or else your hearts must have the courage for the changing of the guards.

I always volunteer. They've made me do some shameful things, but, anything for the cause ladies, anything for the cause. (please, no hot-wax this time)
wren, tis up to you. that is the ultimate message of the
pirate wimmin, and jimmy (morrison & me)
whatever you want.

rollling, my eyes are endlessly admired ,alas, due to my
genetic inheritance from mom and my tricky way
of using them..............
Pretty cool man. I've never gotten kicked out of a bar and I always think it strange when people talk about this, but I guess it happenes often. Sorry to hear about your friend, man.
scanner..that is INDEED an issue..the wax. the , ah , hairlessness.

very deadly serious...

a fine family man, a great dad, a devoted husband..
a good friend..taken..why?
huh? yeah, ok, scroll down...uh, just a minute more...
jane,
lewd leads to less confusion.

lewd is a fine perspective, tho never not a temporary one...
always a glad flash, but the big boys and gals say
ya cannot build a nest in hedonism.

love the lewd, though. no value judgment on it.

i could rival u with bars chucked out from, maybe...
huh? yeah...
the new password of the pirate wimmin& their willing servants?
good thought, JULIE
BREASTS in the forest certainly a fine pursuit for a nature walker
along the lines of a thoreau, or a , uh, 17 yr old..
but the trouble is: most gals take heed
of risk of tick to soft tissue.

not much to see.

but prudent.
James, this is some balm for an unnaturally warm Feb. night. Do love the pirate, having aspirations, yes I do, of being long in gold, with a view below winning her heart.
The 80's would be a great place for a guy with your vision, passion to mine, run through your kiln polishing your minted gold. Enjoyed it. Give us your longer piece .... a novel perhaps? Good stuff, as usual.
I'm with Daisy
I thought you were hunting breasts
sounded like a possibility
I once dated a man who was a friend of Dylan
back when he played the coffee house scene at 7 corners in Minneapolis
He said that he read the books of ancient chinese mystics and
took their humble mumblings into his songs
I have been reading Chaung Tzu and I can see it
You might like Chaung, he is a cool old dead dude
rated with love
"But without you it just doesn’t seem right
Oh, where are you tonight?"

Heart felt and longingly written.
Blessings to you!
James M. E. This needs to be sent to Bill and Melinda Gates. The Elder Pa Pa needs to see that Pirate?
I'll have to Blake-out the image?
I share your post with a 7/12 old?

From a virgin chorus flaws

You're not a`HAUGHTY/HUBRIS.
You make my head hurt, like I've said before, but I must read your blogs! Don't know much about the 80s. My i-laws say it was a vacuous period in our history. Based on the hairdos I see in movies of that time I'd have to agree.
Fun post, and you look remarkably the same as you did in the 80's!
I thank you for offering comfort, I know it was totally an unselfish and kind act your part James.
You are, as always, a gentleman and a scholar.
Nice, but I can't think of you attached to any decade, you float so well with the great minds of all time!
Nice, but I can't think of you attached to any decade, you float so well with the great minds of all time!
Good of you to answer the call, but there was really never any doubt.

I really like the new photo. Nice smile.

I lived in the land of Mormons for a time. More complicated than it appears. Sorry about your friend.
Yo-ho-yo-ho! The pirate life for me!
VIC, ah to sail the seven seas. With a hold fulla naked men, ha? One at a time, call them up to the CaptainGal’s quarters, and then send em back. I know you pirate wimmin well!!!xo

FIRECHICK: I dunno about my picture. I photograph so badly. My intense male beauty is in my movement, and cannot be captured photographically..yeah..the Mormons are like an odd conspiratorial ‘invasion of the body snatchers’ scene..i cannot make moral judgments on them, cuz they are all so damn NICE…but my friend is dead.

ALYSA: I float with the eternal ethereal winds. I am not able to be pinned down to a specific time period, certainly! You are kinda similar……………………

RITA: Rita, weird, isn’t it? how I seem the same in all time frames? Anyway..you are welcome for my totally selfless contribution to this empowering girl stuff. I always try to empower wimmin, whenever I meet one.
James, at least the photos you post of yourself, you look so very handsome. But I LOVE that you know you have "intense male beauty" -- it makes me want to see you move. But I don't have to see you move to know that you are intensely beautiful, inside and out.
