Great verbotomy.

Thanks.
Thanks O'Kathyrn! I'll be posting the best invented word-of-the-day here, every day. ~ James
i have this disease. EVERY TIME. it's a running joke in our house- if i pick up a pen, it won't work.
I'm so glad to have a word for this, but I'd still like to know the root cause. Am I cursed? Unlucky? Am I writing too much? Or not enough? Is "bictmization" a sociological process? Ordained by God? What?
Uncanny -- I was just bictimized yesterday! At least, thank god, I have a word for it now. :-)
James, this is very exciting!! I think the word is quite appropriate to the need. You said you will post one a day?--that is a great idea,a dnI think it will get lots of participation. Also an idea if you want to consider it: Create a need/scenerio, provide roots (or not) and have the folks on OS submit their own words in the comment section.

Sort of like a literary version of Bob's caption contest!
All the best to you,

G
Lately, my therapist has been encouraging me to step out of the bictim role.
The greatest risk of contracting this disorder comes from contact with writing implements received gratis at trade shows and professional conferences.

Warning: this strain is particularly resistant to pen-icillin.

Hmmm, I think I've found the root problem - you buy the Bics that weren't shot through the wooden block.

I use fountain pens myself, they're pretty reliable if you remember t keep them fed.
Verbotomy!? Shouldn't that mean to cut out words (e.g. lobotomy, appendectomy, tracheotomy)? Will you be removing words from the dictionary? Or making incisions in them? Do you have any sharp implements? I'm worried...
Hey Biblio Files,

Yes Verbotomy is all about cutting up words with sharp objects (your mind?), so it can get kind of messy... But after all the slicing and dicing is done, the challenge is to stitch it all back together again -- often with mixed results -- to create something new!

Are you ready to try your hand at the operating table?
Watch out! You might be bictimized by Bic and sued.

Just wondering if there are variations to this slanderous terminology? Maybe un-uniballed? or perhaps Unpiloted? Expressed in slang with "I've lost by uniballs." Or maybe "My pilot kamikazied me?" Just wondering and modeling thos ever questioning linguistics.
