Just in:
President-Elect Barack Obama has just had a full day of intensive briefing in preparation for entering the White House. The briefing covered a wide range of matters, including the US military situation in Iraq and Afghanistan, the state of the economy - including the impact of the subprime lending crisis, the stockmarket outlook, and the looming budget deficit - the future costs of American pensions, and the gap between the healthcare needs of most American citizens and their insurance coverage.
He has demanded a recount of all votes at Tuesday's election.
