Here is another installment in my continuing series (OK, it's only my second one, but I plan to do as many as I can) of bits of western culture reinterpreted through nonwestern culture. I have no idea what movie this is from, and you may have even seen it before on the internets, but it's just too good to miss, or to only see once.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present The Bollywood Beatles (and a little Elvis too)!

Also, they seem to have cloned a few extra Beatles....
Silkstone, that's a good question. Was it meant to be humorous, or was it an attempt at sincere imitation or flattery?
And I still find it sort of funny that they had these "mop tops" with guitars, clearly a reference to The Beatles, and then the gyrating guy, who, although dressed Beatle-style, was obviously a nod to Elvis. As if these rock 'n roll stars just naturally went together, when, in the U.S. (and the rest of the west, I imagine), the arrival of The Beatles put the final nail in the coffin of Elvis-style rock 'n roll (1968 comeback notwithstanding).
