A Hard Day's Blog

Oh, by all means, I'd be quite prepared for that eventuality.

Bill's Coming Back!

Rate: 12 Flag

It was almost two years ago that I wrote my farewell blog to Bill Moyers, who retired from his weekly television series, Bill Moyers Journal, on April 30, 2010.  Since then, Friday nights at our house have often involved the following conversation:

JimWhat do you want to watch?

MeHmmm.  I don't know.  Zzzzzzzzzzz.

Oh, I had a quickie rebound relationship with Need to Know for a short time, and Netflix has filled the void a little bit, plus we've been re-watching Deadwood (another series that disappeared and left us wandering aimlessly), and there's always Rachel Maddow on MSNBC but, truly, things just haven't been the same.

That's all about to change!

With Moyers & Company, we will again have a chance to see real journalism and substantive conversation about current events.

Check the Moyers website or your local listings to see when Moyers & Company will be broadcast in your area.

Well...that should help some with the nod off.
First I've heard about it.
I saw him intereviewed about the other night; sounds like it will be a good show!
Oh I love Bill so much!! Good news. I will be looking for him. Thanks.
OMG OMG OMG Thank you for this news, you made my day!

Two of my biggest celebrity crushes: Bill Moyers and Sir David Attenborough, who recently retired :-(
Bill, Willie and Molly -- proof that good things can come even from Texas
aka, I'll make it until at least 9:00 now!

Laura, I know he was interviewed on Colbert this week. I'm sure the new show will be fantastic!

zanelle, glad to you let you know about it!

greenheron, hope you can watch. Who knows, maybe Attenborough will be as bad at retirement as Moyers.

Tom, if only Molly was still with us. But, yes, Texas does occasionally come through. (Buddy Holly!)
I'm a Bill Moyers fan. When I was a boy he and his dad delivered Barg's soft drinks to my daddy's restaurant. He knew all of my family on daddy's side and once did a TV special about the Neely's BBQ businesses. I am glad to see him back onTV. He is a brilliant man.
Thank you, Jeanette. Excellent news!

Dicky, I remember you saying that your family knew him way back when! (Did you know that there is a Neely's Barbecue in Memphis? In fact, the owners have their own show on the Food Channel.)

Fusun, glad to share such good news with you!
I do know about the Neely's in Memphis. I would love to try their BBQ. They are a black family and I bet they have some good food and a long tradition.
You should receive a commission.
Ooooh, exciting! Thanks for the heads up!
Dicky, I imagine the Neely place is packed these days, as a result of their show. If I ever get to Memphis again, I might go there.

Larry, do you want to be my agent? :-)

Sarah, Cedar and Kathy, it is exciting, isn't it? Can't wait until tomorrow night!
