UPDATE (1/21/12): The winners were announced last night in Anaheim, California, and Jim has won the award for Outstanding Creative Achievement on the single "Angel Dance" from the album "Band of Joy" by Robert Plant! Woo hoo!
Original Post (1/12/12)
The TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio, Inc., has announced its list of2011 nominees for Outstanding Creative Achievement in audio technology and production. These awards recognize those who work "behind the scenes" in creating music for film, television, video games, live broadcasts and records.
It is with tremendous pride that I share here that my husband, Jim, has been nominated for two TEC Awards for his mastering work on the album "Band of Joy" by Robert Plant, and the single "Angel Dance" from that same album. (If you're curious about what a mastering engineer does, here is a good explanation from Wikipedia.)
Other nominees in these categories are people who worked on projects for Cee Lo Green, Katy Perry, Adele, Black Eyed Peas, and Jay Z and Alicia Keys, so this feels like pretty rarefied air!
Good luck, sweetie! Win or lose, you still "master" my world (haha).

John, thanks! It really is a specialized field, and just to know that Jim won in a category where he was nominated with some of the biggest mastering studios in the country is so gratifying.

Scarlett, I haven't even met him myself! I would imagine he'll record again in Nashville. Even so, I don't know if I'd want to meet him. I wouldn't know what to say.
Sheepy, I guess you're right. Thanks for the good wishes. I'm really proud.
Tom, thanks. I would imagine there are some people out there right now thinking, "Who's Jim DeMain? Maybe we should check it out."
Thanks, Steve. I have to say that we really weren't expecting it. (BTW, I went to your website the other day. I had no idea you were such an accomplished musician and songwriter!)
Hi Alysa, and thanks! It feels pretty good. I kind of wish we had been able to go to the party out in California now.
