I haven't checked in for a while; I've been moving, and working on other things, and deliberately limiting my intake of political discussion.

I'm thrilled to have a new government on the horizon. 

But I'm not as nice a person as Barack Obama. I'm a little vindictive.

Dear O.,

Before you close Guantanamo, find, in FISA or the Patriot Act or some Bush signing statement, a pretext for interring Bush, Cheney, Rummy, Condie and the rest. Don't waste time with the courts. Don't bother with any niceties. Just do it. By executive order, five minutes after you're sworn in. Round 'em up, fly 'em down. Treat them exactly the way we have all the other alleged threats to national security.

Let *them* fight it, all the way to the Supreme Court, and have responsibility for legally wiping out their own horrifying excesses in the use of power.

It's a cool idea, huh?
