267 Pounds... because of H1N1!

Rate: 0 Flag

I tested positive for Type A Flu today.  My doctor tells me it is most likely the swine flu because the seasonal flu hasn't hit our area yet.  I'm considered high risk due to the diabetes and heart condition so I got some Tamiflu.  If this flu is caught within the first 48 hours, the Tamiflu is usually effective.  Hopefully I will have a milder case.

I started feeling achy, woozy, dizzy, and light headed yesterday.  Last night I had a slight fever of 99.5.  Felt silly going to the doctor today, but I really didn't like this weak, tired feeling and thought I should get it checked out.  They stuck a swab up my nose to test for flu and the test was positive.  I was scared, but hopeful because we caught it early and I'm able to get Tamiflu to help keep the symptoms mild.

I'm in bed now.  Fever has stayed low, I have a sore throat, and I'm still dizzy.  Glad to be able to rest and take care of myself because no one wants me around.  Soooo happy NOT to spread this illness.

I'm also not very hungry and just feel yucky.  So, when I stepped on the scale today it read 267.  Not the best way to lose weight, but I guess I'll take it.  Getting through the 260s may be easier than I thought it was going to be.

In 17 pounds my mom has to buy me some new pants!  It's really going to feel good to make her keep her promise to reward me.   My sister promised to take me to Europe when I reach my goal of 155 pounds.  I got my passport this summer, but I wasn't sure if I'd ever use it.  Now I'm thinking she's in trouble too.  It's really awesome to think of how much fun I would have in Europe at 155 pounds as opposed to 267 pounds.  Just the walking alone will be so much easier.  This time next year I want to be sipping champagne in France!

Here's to 267...  only 112 pounds to go!
