I am an activist/organizer of World Can't Wait +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Mission Statement of World Can't Wait: The World Can’t Wait organizes people living in the United States to repudiate and stop the fascist direction initiated by the Bush Regime, including: the murderous, unjust and illegitimate occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan; the global “war of terror” of torture, rendition and spying; and the culture of bigotry, intolerance and greed. This direction cannot and will not be reversed by leaders who tell us to seek common ground with fascists, religious fanatics, and empire. It can only be possible by the people building a community of resistance - an independent mass movement of people - acting in the interests of humanity to stop, and demand prosecution, of these crimes.

To A Generation Without A Song

Rate: 4 Flag

Standing around and you’re waiting,

you want to be inspired

you listen hard for the song

that’s gonna

make a statement worth stating

before the melody comes you’re tired

don’t even know what’s right what’s wrong

You gotta

know what’s wrong to make it right

can’t look past the blood and bones

too many suffering while you listen

for the

tune that’s gonna shine that light

oust mad men kings and topple thrones

loose chains and free humanity’s children

but you

gotta understand that its up to you

if you wanna hear a revolutionary sound

you gotta give them the words and

take the

actions that push on through

and makes solid the ground

that gives them courage to stand

you should

know that you’re the ones

that they’ll write music about

so give em melody and words to sing

about how

you liberated the millions

that were kept down and out,

a better world you brought into being

The song comes after you

and the music follows

I was inspired by those who are making the trip to Dr. Carhart's clinic in Nebraska this weekend to defend it and him against the anti-abortion crowd. It made me think about a generation of young women who need to become apart of this fight for women's rights and then the entire generation of youth who need to become a part of the fight for the liberation of all of humanity
bad poetry in your tag caught my attention ... "know that you’re the ones/ that they’ll write music about/ so give em melody and words to sing" mde me sigh... everyone should read and reflect on this
Thank you, Jill. You were definitely with us in Nebraska in spirit.
Jill, the world needs more people like you!
