Off of the speaking circuit for a while, some are wondering what ever became of Dick Cheney.
After leaving office and doing public appearances on TV and speaking tours, the acerbic VP went on to publish a book of his poems, before fronting an Emo band with Carl Rove and Donald Rumsfeld, called "Crocodile Tears."
Their debut album, "Axis of Evil," has had lagging sales on the heels of their North American tour, which Cheney attributes to an anemic economy, but promises their next album would establish Cheney and friends among the pantheon of great Emo bands.
He believes sales of their debut album will pick up now that the video for "My Aching Heart" is in heavy rotation on MTV, and says they are in the studio working on a new album, tentatively titled, "The Deepest Cuts," which Cheney says is a concept album about self mutilation that will herald the start of a new era in western music.
At the time of this writing, "Axis of Evil" is still only number 48 on the Billboard charts, despite critical raves and growing support worldwide, particularly in Argentina and Bulgaria, but the former VP is as optimistic as an Emo singer can be.
In the words of Cheney himself in an interview with MTVs Kurt Loder, "Hey, everybody hurts sometimes."

Like Joan, I doubt that Cheney published poems. He's more of a headbanger type. He wears a wig though because his own straggly locks will not grow, so he has to play it cool and jerk his head back and forth like he's a convicted murderer strapped into an electric chair as his execution is being carried out. Sober thought.
