Steven Axelrod’s New Meme—13 Simple Actions I Love

Rate: 14 Flag

joomla 1.5 statsWaking up naturally in absolute silence after a great night’s sleep.

Diving naked into our spring fed pond after a few hours of gardening on a hot day.

Sinking my trowel into the warm earth around a potato plant and feeling around the loosened soil for potatoes.

Climbing into a bed made up with cotton sheets fresh from the clothesline.

Drying the beads of water off my just-washed car.

Gently releasing a fragile cork from a fine bottle of aged red wine.

Typing…the tactile feel of the keys as they push back on the pads of my finger tips and the accompanying click.

Placing butter in a hot pan and watching it melt.

Kneading dough.

Stepping into a hot shower.

Swimming underwater.

Taking warm, crisp clothes off the clothesline.

Performing the bow at the start and end of a tai chi set.

Your life sounds so calm and peaceful!
hey, thanks for stopping by everyone..

M B, if you only knew. Tomorrow I have to take "Dead Kitty Walking" into the vet for the "last" time. I'm a mess. I think I wrote this while tring to think of nicer things than having my cat put down. Gah! It worked...for awhile.
Butter in the pan! Excellent. I have to add that one -- companion piece to filling the pot of water. Ditto kneading dough, though I jhaven't made bread for years.
sounds like pure Zen up there JK .

laundry ( I can remember )
Beautiful! I could sit here and picture and everything that you said in this.
Oh man! The thought of climbing into a freshly made bed after they have hung outside to dry--- I LOVE THIS! Man I have got to get back to the country so I can have a clothes line again.
Thank you for the awaking of the things around us that we might take for granted every day.
Thank you!
this is wonderful JK, i may have to do one of these. rated.
Trig, Fireeyes, Mjay, I think I'll do a whole post on the clothesline in the spring. An ode to flapping sheets.

It is a good exercise to do because it takes you to a place that feels good. I'm looking for your 13...all of you. :)
