Here is my question:
Can you cite an example of a white child being murdered where the known murderer wasn’t arrested?
For the past month I have been asking that question on a number of different sites. The answers I have received have been everything from "you’re asking the wrong question" to "you’re assuming George Zimmerman committed murder" to "why is there no discussion of black on black crime" to "you let the media dictate what you think" to (my personal favorite) "it happens all the time"(!)
I've received a lot of answers, but not one that addressed what I asked.
If the actions of the police in Sanford Florida were not racially biased in the Trayvon Martin case, then surely someone can cite a similar case involving a white child being murdered where that child's known murderer was not arrested.
While the media in the United States is sensationalistic and care primarily about ratings, blaming them instead of the Sanford Police is absurd. George Zimmerman should have been immediately arrested for murdering Trayvon Martin. Period. If it wasn’t an abheration to not arrest him, then show me a similar case where the victim was a white child and the known murderer wasn't arrested.
As long as I hear that it was “the media playing the race card” that caused Americans to be outraged instead of the behavior of the Sanford Police Department, I will continue to ask my question:
Can you cite an example of a white child being murdered where the known murderer wasn’t arrested?
