While You Weren't Looking: SCOTUS says Public Domain Works Can Be Re-Copyrighted
...which personally affects me as you can see just above, as I'm adapting Frank Wedekind's LULU, which is over 100 years old and in public domain.(not my version, but the two original plays)
Read more here and wonder: what the living fuck. Obviously this is only of benefit to corporations. And I have to wonder--if the authors are dead and the estates are defunct, WHO GETS THE RIGHTS?
