Take a moment or three to listen again to RAVE ON, PEGGY SUE, MAYBE, BABY....any of them.

And Smile.

I'll bb Monday.

Great Weekend!
One of several good musicians produced by the strange place I come from, Lubbock, Texas. He was indeed special.
Rated!!!

Have a good weekend yourself, my friend!!
Thanks, Jon. Bittersweet memories.
AMERICAN PIE....A favorite. An American Icon. My daughter wrote a "paper" on the lyrics when she was in college at OU...Thanks for reminding me.

RE: Komen....good job! Looks like resignations are in the works.
Applause for seeing inside...and speaking outside.
Of all the 50s stars I've always thought Holly was the best of the bunch. At his age he surely had a bunch of hits left in him. At least he influenced banks like the Beatles and Stones. As for favorite songs, let me add OH BOY and EVERY DAY to the list.
Thanks for remembering and reminding...
His legacy still rocks on, Jon. Happy Birthday to all my February friends and family members, especially my sweetest Valentine, Miss E. who will be 15! :)
The beauty of music and meaning, the sadness when an artist leaves the world too soon...
I've been to that supper club in Clear Lake, IA for dinner and dancing. So, bye bye Miss American Pie.
I don't know if it is still in business or not but it was when I still lived in Iowa 15 years ago.
O Donna! I need some Chantilly Lace.

Rest in peace great rockers that left us too soon

Are you sure you got that right? He died at 23?I'm going to go google. But, in the meantime: One of the greatest ever -- American Pie and Vincent. I get goosebumps just thinking of the beauty of his voice and his lyrics.
Also, "The Buddy Holly Story" with Gary Busey is a great movie.

Rated/Bud
Sorry, Jon, I assumed that Don Mclean had somehow died without me knowing, and that he at once had resembled buddy holly.

I checked wikipeda and the great Don Mclean is still with us. Yay.
Every day, things are getting closer, going faster than a roller coaster...
Thanks for this reminder of someone worth remembering.
There is not a single song of his that doesn't sound as fresh and rocking today as when they were released. Will try watching "The Buddy Holly Story" on Netflix...
The only DM lyrics I really like, remind me of Dylan. Imagine what Buddy Holly could have contributed. So sad.
I bet you don't know who played Buddy Holly in Pulp Fiction? Not a very big part, but trivia none-the less!
RIP, Buddy Holly, Big Bopper and uh....uh

Dang, of all the moments to pull a Rick Perry!

Anyhow, It IS good to remember them, and how they were taken away much too soon.

The was a good tribute to Buddy Holly on PBS awhile back. Lots of old farts, and a few newer ones, singing his songs. His wife was there. Nice. I took two of three kids to see Don McLean when he sang in a casino venue on the Oregon coast several years back. I was surpised how short he was since he sang so tall. It was nice to be able to tell him how much his music was appreciated. I hope Buddy gets the message too.
Thank you, Jonathan. ♥
Peggy Sue Got Married, Party Doll, etc. etc. Used to love when the dead would encore with Buddy Holly!
