However temporary, it's a loss.
Yet, please, no weeping. None.
And I'll hear no cynicism. None.
. Weeping's for when your activist friend's found hanging from a Mississippi tree, and then you organize some more and then you win.
. Weeping's for when your gay child or your friend's gay child or your child's gay friend is found beaten senseless- next-to-dead because No-One-Saw-Anything, and then you help put LGBT Equality on ballots and, more important, you support democracy-extending lawsuits and then you win.
. Weeping's for when your sister dies having been forced into an unsafe abortion, then you pull oars with others against those vicious currents and you honor your sister and then you win.
. Weeping's for when you escaped the Warsaw Ghetto and your family did not prior to its general liquidation; then you do whatever you can to make it to the Polish or French Underground and you fight and very hard in your parents' and brothers' and sisters' names. And then you win.
. Weeping's for when your loved one dies while we're losing to the Japanese Imperial Navy for four of five Second War Pacific Theater years. Then you mend, intensify your efforts, work harder, vow never ever to give up, find new, effective ways to punish evil, and you win.
Re-organize and work so hard and win.
The Arc of History is long and it does bend toward Justice.
And We Win.YES. JUSTICE WINS!
