"COMMUNITY ORGANIZER" - A Last Fast Thought on Re-election

Rate: 13 Flag

If their Party has left a shred of sense it will want to start showing it by ending for good its venal, race-and-class- tinged dismissal of the Community Organizer and consider that it was wholly sophisticated, finely calibrated, community by community organizing that has now won the presidency twice running.

Gotta tell you, I remain buoyed 48 hours on, and it's not letting up. The reports that the anonymous meta- super-pac right wing donors are furious now having spent billions for nothing...that's just scrumptious.
It is almost like a Benevolent but Hardassed Vengeful God's
Judgment, aint it?
ha ha

Rove.
I hope you taped the meltdown.
Holy shit.
That'll buoy you the rest of yer life, Rabbi! : )
Jon,I have just read on FB that the new generation of the reps is furious and uses open critique on their party for having ignored the signs of demography.
Oh,James called you a Rabbi?
Yes,yes,yes,I fully agree.
Heidi for now, anyway, Repubs are in disarray and I am thrilled.
As for the reps:
The wind is changing!!!
Instead they're busy studying historical Mao's organizing tactics in the Cultural Revolution. The Kochs will finance snazzy uniforms and sidearms for the party's "organizers" and we'll soon thereafter be off to the race war.
The funny thing is that i read an article in the Inquirer this morning that Obama would be a Republican ( or seen as one) in the days of Nixon… Just shows you how times have changed, and how we look at things now...

Ray I'll look that one up; thanks!
No doubt Obama has raised Chicago style machine political organization to a national level. If Richard Daley had those tools in his box, his grandson would be mayor today, but then maybe in 2014... Hillary will most certainly benefit from the Obama machine in 2016 and probably in 2020... of course it doesn't hurt that the Republicans have adopted the organizational model of Joseph Goebbels and his crew. R&R ;-)
I don't see any let-up yet JW. Boehner has already urged Obama to reach across the aisle by eschewing tax increases on the rich. They think they have a mandate for further obstruction.
Im hoping they all leave the country but no one in the world wants the Repubs. Moderate Republicans I know are embarassed about the right wing nuts and want them gone. I'm still giddy.
Haha, "revenge" of the oft-derided "community organizer" - oops, that was useful experience after all.
Abra we'll see if Boehner has a Come to Jesus Moment and wants to be recalled in history well or for ill.
Zanelle sing it, sister!
I wonder what legislation Obama has on his agenda for the next 4 years? I can't wait. Granted, he needs to compromise with the GOP, and I accept that. We know that change must come about gradually and with as many people aboard as possible. Regardless, change is coming and the forces of plutocratic reaction can't do anything to stop it.

I'm really happy right now.

My big hope is that he does something to reform student loans, especially for those of us who do major public service and pro bono work.
Great post. Chicken Mann's comment worries me. We have seen what the uniforms do for some people before, in Germany.
Sheila Thanks Can you see that sneaky little twerp, Eric Cantor, driving a tank, trying to shut down the inauguration?
Reb Jon, you may have left something out of your descriptive first portion of your statement here: gender-biased.
This has tinged their campaign for years. It shows how many evil men have overtaken Republicanism for decades, maybe even for more than a century.
Why this should be so is a mystery, perhaps, unless one is ascribing to the theory that it is easiest to polarize, to look at things purely in black and white terms, which is what bigots often will do in their arguments.

I'm guessing there just isn't time enough for these people to truly learn how to be loving and forgiving of their fellow creatures and to allow them their freedom to choose (how/whether to worship, which way to vote, where to turn for love and companionship, etc)--which is the right of every American--nay, of every living adult on earth.
Bless you for adding to the fight for what is real, true and good here and elsewhere.

Never underestimate the ability of ideologues to lie to themselves.
cred 150 yrs ago they told themselves and others that slavery, too, was beneficial to African-Americans. ... ... ...
With all the contention in the country, I was so worried that he wouldn't win and SO glad that he did. I remain buoyed with you!
True enough.

Until this place settles down technically, I'll only visit occasionally. I'm using OurS at least until I get e-mail notifications of comments and PM's. So, if I miss a bunch of posts, you'll know why.

I've run out of patience. And I'm a very patient person.
Jon, I love IT!!hah!! Karl Rove looked like an idiot. Dick Morris said Romney was going to "slaughter" Obama. George Will picked Obama in a landslide, 3 something to 2 something. Rush, hah, he's an idiot. They all have egg on their face, spending a billion dollars for what. I hear they still can't get Karl Rove away from his desk, yelling about Ohio, hah~

Scanner even the Ohio Repub Chairman told Mr. Rove to stop it; it embarrassed them.
