Living in a tropical country, surrounded by beaches was really cool. And, working in a rich country with too much snow is really cold.

Baby Boy Found in a Garbage Bag

An  airport security officer noticed something unusual movements  in a garbage bag that was likely discharged from an airplane, which arrived from Bahrain on Sunday to Manila, Philippines. He found out that a  newborn baby boy covered in blood wrapped in  tissue paper  succumbed to his last breath in the garbage bag. The unknown officer found him bluish instead of a shade of pink, a color which isn't right for a newborn child.  The baby boy was rushed in the airport clinic . Doctors and nurses tended to his needs. After he was given  warmth, clothed and milk, the baby regain his natural color and strength. Now, the Philippine authorities were doing their best to trace the mother of the child. My question is what happen after the mother is found?

The mother has a strength to threw the boy in the garbage bag and let him wailed there till his last breath. I wondered if the boy is back to her mother's arm, would she leave his son again somewhere?

Surely, the mother has her own side of story. But to leave the child in the wilderness, hungry and unsafe that is beyond excuse. How could she put the baby in the trash dying? Forgive me for my rant but it's really cruel to put the newborn in a garbage bag to die. If she survived for nine months pregnancy, I could see no reason why she abandoned the child when he was out from her womb? However, I don't have the right to point finger of who's fault it is. But no person has a right to treat an innocent baby like that.

Women are still so stigmatised by out-of-wedlock or untimely pregnancies, that it is no shock or surprise to me when this occurs. These are the actions of a very frightened, desperate woman and we have to see them as such. I'm not saying it makes it right. But perhaps if we look at how society (and many religious cultures) view women and ill-timed pregnancy and worked to change those views, we would save many, many more infants and give women choices, resources, etc. that would prevent them from committing such a desperate act.
