I have talked about The Man in almost every post I’ve ever written here on Open Salon. He considers himself a “character” in my blog and he rather enjoys that. Today, on the occasion of his birthday, I would like to show everyone, once again, why I married him.
This is what happens when I send him out to power wash the driveway:
The rest of the driveway is pristine and white. This is at the very end, facing the street. I don't know how long it will last, but it makes me smile. I’m sure the little old man who patrols the neighborhood for code violations and errant yard gnomes will be appalled. BONUS!
In honor of The Man's birthday, here are my favorite posts starring Mr. The Man...
NetFlix is Causing Marital Strife
How OS Saved My Marriage
How to Evict a Squirrel

He is the best of men, a loving father, my partner in crime and the kind of husband who will power wash his love into the end of a driveway for the world to see.
Happy Birthday, my love.

Happy Birthday, The Man!!
S
and then the post lived up to it!
You are so lucky!
(Great photo, BTW. He is looking at you with such love.)
Happy Birthday to the Man! Apparently he is a keeper...and rare.

Jodi, I'd say you are the lucky one, but in this case he's pretty dang lucky too!
He's going to be so pleased to see all of your comments. This is a surprise for him, he hasn't seen it yet. He knows who all of you are and he's an avid OS reader. He even posts sometimes, but he doesn't advertise that he is "The Man."
Rich - That little old man is going to be in the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest man pretty soon, I'm sure. I'm just hoping to outlive him so I might get a moment's peace.
Cartouche - The Man lurves you, too! SQUEEEE!
Delia - It's in the movie twice, I think. But I remember it from the end. Netflix anyone?
'ella 'ella 'ella!!!! - He'll be honored you showed up! We miss you!
Steph - That photo was taken on a Thames river cruise. You can see Tower Bridge behind him. There is a similar one of me. The sad thing about being overseas for our honeymoon is that there are very few photos of us TOGETHER! Ha!
O'Really - I think Cartouche and 1_I_M have dibs. I'll ask.
Kerry - This would be a very convenient time to put me on your RSS feed. I'm just sayin'...
bobbot - Nope. Sadly, we got rained out of Holiday World - highly disappointing.
I am here to bring the funny and the love. Everything else is just noise. If I want to see people screaming at each other, I'll turn on Springer.
Steve - If I can make anyone smile, I've done well.
The Man will be home soon! I'm so excited about this! He's going to love it!!!
You are both truly blessed to have found each other. This will be my feel good post or the day!
The Man read this and he's just pleased as punch.
The cover was icing on his cupcakes.
(If you know what I mean...)
The ed's turned my fluff into a gift I couldn't have given alone.
I am very grateful for that!
You are a lucky woman.
K and I once wrote I love you's inside hearts on the glass sliding door in the kitchen when it got all steamed up as we were cooking. Since we of course never bother to wash the windows, the phantom writings reappear every time the door gets steamed up again. Score one for bad housekeeping and good romance!
I envy you yours.

Thumbified!
Also, excellent juxtaposition with Rob's!
Belated HBD to Jodi's Man. I can't imagine what will happen when you tell him the house needs painting.
Thumbed for calliaguarphy.
