bankers and brokers are in the money-making business. if you do business with them, know what you are doing or enjoy being screwed.

politicians, on the other hand, are nominally working for the people, setting rules of engagement in the market place. they in fact once again relaxed the leash on creative brokering, with the usual result. the most recent melt-down is all their own work.

the show trials are just to exhaust the fear and anger of chumps like you. there is no one, no organ of government, to bring politicians to justice, for they are the ruling class. but they produce scapegoats to divert anger nonetheless, for occasionally peoples have been known to smarten up enough to hang a few politicians out of blind rage.

the ceos will squirm for a few hours, the politicians will display righteous anger, the chumps will feel "we showed 'em," and the juggernaut rolls on unchanged.

During the Great Depression, one of the things that was actively suppressed in the media were the killings of bankers by customers that had lost everything. It went on more often than most people and historians let on. That stuff was suppressed because the gov't feared a widespread killing spree. You might think that this banking debacle is going to continue unabated, but there is so much outrage out there, that it isn't just going to go away. To further reinforce my position, consider this: Last year approximately 2 million families lost their homes due to ARMs/Ninja Loans, etc., and the whole country is totally pissed off...This year the experts estimate 4 million will go down. I suppose you think that will dump cold water on the hate out there for these assholes? This will infuriate the people even more, and fan the flames of rancor towards the pigs on Wall St. to even higher levels than we see today. Every society has a breaking point, and it is my considered opinion that we are fast approaching ours. You may think that the populace will just roll over again and again, but that same mentality pervaded the US for decades prior to Pearl Harbor, when many espoused the same sentiments as you. These 3rd and 4th generation bankers out there think they are entitled to steam-roller us, because they have been taught, at home and at school, that they are better than everyone else, and due to this false sense of superiority, gives them a phony mandate to do anything they want. This is a major miscalculation, and will come back to bite them in the ass...the french aristocracy thought they were untouchable too, and you know what happened there.

You make a huge mistake assuming that all this crap is going to continue on and on. Nothing could be farther from the truth. You swat one bee, you kill it, swing away at enough of them and you'll get stung into oblivion. We are essentially the same as the bees: one or two bees in the shit, no problem; the whole nest in jeopardy; look out!

I don't know how old you are, or how much real education you have, "chump", but I can assure you that I do my homework, and don't just spew vitriol like you....besides, it's my blog, and if I want to rant and rave I can: So there!!!

Thanks, Steph...I don't post much these days: I'm too busy working to sit down and vent. It seems that a lot of folks don't have anything else to do but blog...In my world, making the dinero and maintaining the household is numero uno, and after all that, I don't have a lot of surplus energy to pound the keys and spew forth.
