How many of you state employees lost your jobs recently? Did you know, that last February, during the "budget crisis", part of the "budget plan" included a $4.5 million raise for the Superior court judges in LA county alone. On top of the illegal payments of $47,000 per judge, paid by the county, to "attract, and retain quality judges" for the county. The grand total for illegal payments to judges is $25.6 million/yr. The problem with the philosophy "to attract, and retain",is, judges are elected every 6 years. So, that would mean, the county is using public funds for private campaign contributions. For the Californian's that aren't effected by the layoffs, the cost of traffic fines, have doubled. And, for those unfamiliar with LA county traffic court, they add a special fee for, "getting a ticket", it's called a "penalty assessment fee", which is calculated at 170% of the original fine. No, that's not a typo, "one hundred and seventy percent". Didn't hear about that on "mainstream media", huh? Now consider the sales tax hike, the gas tax hike, the car registration triplement, the proposed property tax doublement, parking meters downtown that take debt cards because parking fees went crazy, $4 for 15 minutes, in some areas? Being a resident of LA county, myself, this, so piss's me off, and if you live here, it should do the same for you. Another thing, in the years 04, 05, and 06, not one law suit against the county, heard by a judge, was lost, by the county. This also comes into play in other areas of the judicial arena. Consider the following, child custody, criminal, property tax, property disputes, business codes, just about everything that has to do with the courts, the county is involved in, except civil matters, but some of them involve the county too.
I didn't pull this out of my,.......Well, it's all documented. Bottom line is, while millions of Californian's are getting screwed, judges get $270,000/yr. for the hard job they do, abusing people.
And, no, I didn't just lose a court case, and, am all mad, I'm always mad, mad, I say......Ah ha ha ha.
