So, this Chertoff guy is making a killing selling $150,000+ EACH, "full body scanners", after making making it manditory for all airports to employ this technology, in our "fight against global terrorism" sweet deal, huh? Kinda like ol' Al's global warming scam, only better, because ol' Mikey gets the money, instead of the goverment. So, bomb sniffing dogs cost $8,500 each, out the door, and can go almost anywhere, like cargo holds, baggage carts, and it's different when a dog sticks his nose in your crotch, as compared to the guy with the criminal background, and the TSA uniform. In Iraq, they dumped millions of dollars worth of bomb detection equipment, because" it didn't work". These new scanners haven't been approved by the FDA, haven't been fully studied, and doctors are concerned with the effects on various medical conditions. No body's brought up pace makers yet, If a mocro-wave oven can cause interference by standing near one, what does being in one do? And the theory that they're safe because they don't penetrate the deep tissue, bunk.
