Well, it does happen once in awhile. The rain freezes before it hits the ground and it snows here in Sunny Seattle. So far in Shoreline (just north of the city), we've received about 2". That's probably over Freaky's waist, so Deven will need to get her some snowshoes if she ventures this far across the Lake (I always imagine Freaky as feminine, but I could be wrong). I'm playing hooky from work this afternoon and snapped a few pictures for proof.
This is my son Ian, we had just finished shoveling the obscene white stuff off the driveway, so it doesn't turn to ice tomorrow. I traded in an all wheel car with a manual transmission for a rear wheel drive with an automatic. It normally does alright, but if I stop on this slight hill, I'm stuck - I have to back up and do it again.

Across the street. As you might guess, there are a lot of trees in Shoreline. But unfortunately not enough snow for a real snowdog (myself, I'm more of a cold Corona on a tropical beachdog, though).
Well, now it's dark (and cold). It gets dark early up here in the Northwest. I thought that I'd add this one last shot from the iPhone

Seattle news always celebrates with all day news reporting from lower Queen Anne hill and videos of sliding cars.
I love a Seattle snow day. I haven't been out of my jammies yet. We are at 6 inches down south of Boeing Field. Looking for my X-country ski poles now.
Have fun!
(I didn't think anyone shoveled snow here? Huh. Maybe we'll try it)
I love Seattle whenever I visit. I'm amazed that you actually see snow. And this early in the year!
Cartouche - I just might have to, to go to my Friday meeting I need to go up a pretty big hill - that doesn't get plowed or sanded, see comment above about ice.
Rob - White rain indeed. Today it was actually powdery.
Freaky - I see how you play in the snow. I left my clothes on, being far more sensitive to cold.
Hyblaean - actually Seattle winters are really mild. We only get occasional reminders that we're further north than the north part of Maine.
I have a friend in Shelton WA, they got about 9" yesterday. They have a long, steep gravel drive and haven't been able to get out for the last couple days. She's been enjoying the snow days too.
Stay warm and cozy up there!
Sigh. And grumble.
The puppies like it. though.
Thankfully in imagination only.
The snow continues, I wonder if Ric is up to his butt in the stuff.
