America Is Losing The Important War

Rate: 12 Flag
Our enemy is not the 40 freedom fighters Al Queda's has in Afghanistan. It's 40 enemies who have infiltrated America's government and are bent on destroying it.
Pogo
They want to paralyze America's government using guerrilla tactics. They want to "Freeze America Totally" and they are succeeding. They are winning the undeclared war.

Yesterday, the enemies passive-aggressive protest shut down the Senate Committee tasked with solving global warming. That's their newest battle tactic, shutting down things. And it worked. The bill can't get out of committee  now. So no global warming bill. No cap and trade.

They have frozen the full Health Care Bill, of course, but they are also preventing consideration of the Veterans’ Caregiver and Omnibus Health Benefits Act. One issue at at time they are paralyzing our government.

Yes, you guessed it, the enemy is the GOP, and their SWAT team are the 40 members of the US Senate. 41 if you count good old Joe.

These pretend patriots are kicking America's ass and we are not even fighting back. We're taking it. We're not even mad as hell. Some of us didn't even realize we were at war.

You think, I'm exaggerating, don't you. You think I'm sounding like a conspiracy theory nutcase, a babbling Beck or lefty Limbaugh, who you don't take seriously, because they are wackjobs. So was the painter with the mustache.

Republicans are boycotting the Environment and Public Works Committee hearings, blocking action by exploiting a committee rule that at least two members of the minority have to be present before opening markup. On Wednesday, ranking Republican James Inhofe of Oklahoma, the foremost denier of global warming, made a brief appearance at the hearing, dropped an IED and left.

Republican Tom Coburn of Oklahoma is the freedom fighter preventing consideration of S 1963, the Veterans’ Caregiver and Omnibus Health Benefits Act of 2009, by using putting a hold on a bill.

They have stopped the nomination of the Surgeon General during a declared epidemic.

This is not coincidence.

The plan, as we all know, is the plan authored by Rush Limbaugh. Make a Obama fail, the GOP can take back power. And if America is destroyed in the process, so be it.

If you've seen Glenn Beck lately, all he talks about it revolution.

This is not just Dick Nixon's Dirty Tricks Team. This is serious stuff and we'd better take it seriously. But I don't see anybody doing so.

Be aware that America is not going to win this war. We can't. We have met the enemy, and old Pogo was right, he is us.

The enemy took two states on Tuesday without a shot fired. And we discovered a lot of people are with them, judging by FoxNews ratings, which did better than all other networks combined. Yes, more people watched the returns on Fox than CNN and MSNBC combined. The propaganda is working.

The enemy wants to "Freeze America Totally" so that Dems will get depressed and sit at home so that next year the enemy can take back power.  And if we don't wake up the FAT-heads are going to do it.

Well…I’m not a Democrat or a liberal, but I agree that the party of “NO” is something we ought fear AT LEAST as much as we do any external enemies.

I have lots of friends and relatives (people I dearly love) who embrace this abomination of a political philosophy. I try to reason with them…to point out the absurdity of the situation they bolster.

I guess, considering the way our democracy works, that is the best thing one can do.

That, and posting commentary like yours, of course.

Good job.
I think you've got all assbackward katywumpus. You've got the good guys and bad guys in the wrong hats.
Frank Apisa, I think you're right. Even if you are a moderate or Republican, I don't see how a Scorched Earth policy benefits anyone who isn't running for office or looking for ratings.

oh god, i so didn't need to hear this. this is so fucking horrifying and you are right, we are the enemy. please please, what is one small thing that those of us who do care but are agoraphobic can do? seriously. this is beyond all reason. can the courts step in at all? love love love but not so much with the gratitude for this awful information.
If you read my last post then my stance is pretty clear. While I am a liberal at least social liberal, I don't advocate that either side have total say at the expense of the nation. We aren't supposed to be this way and it just makes me sick to watch as the desire to dominate becomes the prime motivator in our government. My way or no way will destroy us and quick.
Bobbit is right and everyone should read his latest post.
Oh yes. I take you seriously all right, John. We're on the same page here. It's frightening.

We didn't take action about Nixon's minions until Woodward and Bernstein and the Wash Post shoved it in our faces. Even then it was an uphill fight but Senator Sam and the Watergate Committee finally did the job.

We were so freakin impotent during GWB's even more egregious law-breaking for 8 YEARS, it makes me want to scream. Give us a plan. We need somebody to come up with a plan. Senator Sam (and those who knew what to do) are gone.
Nobody takes anything seriously. They are too self-absorbed in their own home grown, bottled and hermetically sealed crap. It's called an "image". Excellent, on the money good. O'Really Good.
I didn't know about the committee rule. God, how scary. Upon learning this, my first thought is: why has this never happened before? Has it? If so, has it been so widespread? Did the GOP do this to Clinton? The Dems to Reagan? Or is this an all-new, all-evil scorched earth "policy?" What, if anything, COULD be done to stop it?
Silly nonsense, my good man. This is nothing but politics. To equate the GOP with terroists is both over the top and unreasonable. Sure they may be naysayers and slimy and in the pockets of corporations, but...take a close look....so are a lot of the Democrats on the other side of the isle.
The real enemy isn't any poltical party, it isn't even the corporations. It's not our system of governance or our national character.
The real enemy is thinking there's an enemy at all. Give humanity a little time to evolve. We'll get it right, eventually.
