Imagine a world without technology.
Imagine a world without satellite communication.
Imagine a world without computers.
Imagine a world without internet facilities.
Thats how the world used to be, and it was accepted largely because we knew no other way, it was part of normality. But, supposing that should happen in the 21st century. Fellow internet users, how would we survive? Of course, we know that could never happen, the technological age is with us to stay and there is no turning back. Or is there?
Nasa is telling us to prepare for a once in a generation storm because of an increase in solar activity which could result in widespread blackouts and leave us without critical communication signals for considerable periods of time.
The overheating of national power grids, mass disruption of air travel and the complete shut down of electronic items, navigation devices and major satellites are just some of the consequences of the sun reaching its maximum power in only a few years time.
As well as this, the bolt of lightning caused by the super storm could bring disastrous consequences for the world emergency service systems, hospital equipment and of course would leave us without our computers, sat navs and ipods.
The worst case scenario would see large parts of the world plunged into darkness for months.
A long dark summer? no communications. No hospital services to vital health needs.
....................... AND NO OPEN SALON, for with no computerisation this facility will not exist. What would you do?
So, here is the challenge, how will you survive an OS free zone? How would you readjust your daily/weekly schedule? Is there life beyond OS?

Imagine a word with spell check!
If this should happen, of course, there would be difficulty in doing anything that required sight 24/7. I guess it could be possible straining the eyes through the light of an open fire, as they did in the old days.
Thanks for all your comments folks, some interesting thoughts that you each have brought.
Now, can someone enlighten me, not being an American, whats the initials EPA about? I assume something to do with the environment?
