Amazing the interesting titbits one picks up as one moves around.
In the north east of Scotland is a town known as Forres. I remember the first time I arrived in the area it seemed so far north that many thought we were heading somewhere near the arctic circle. In reality we were not. Indeed the 10 miles of Moray coast nearby is often known as the riviera of the north with its pleasant climate. The gulf stream is the reason that is attributed to that as the gulf stream heads up the west, round the north, and then bouces into the Moray Firth.
It is also known as MacBeth country. There are many reminders of the play, Maceth, thought to have been written by Shakespeare. But here is something more to take in, Britain in Bloom. It is a competition tat Forre has won high awards in for many years. Much thought is put into the floral design with such presentations as a Peacock, The Teddy Bers picnic, and many others. Whats the most up to date position of Forres and Britain in Bloom? Take look at this video

One more important thing, it was in Forres I was to find the one I married, her home town. The flower of Scotland may be a song, but there I found my own flower of Scotland

I lived in Newfoundland for six years. I heard plenty of the tourists tell me Scotland looked a bit like the scenery did there.
It was not this pretty though.
