The Sky is Never Just Blue

Rate: 2 Flag

My husband says that I would argue with God.

He's wrong. (Or at the very least, not entirely correct.)

I never argue just to argue or to be difficult; I do like to discuss, troubleshoot, brainstorm, plan and elaborate. Sometimes I do all of the above more than is wise (or in good taste) in my pursuit for the perfect solution, the  perfect sentence or the perfect description.

The sky is never just blue for me. It's cerulean with a touch of diaphanous haze, or turquoise with cotton candy clouds. It's gray and angry, and shot through with lightning veins and strobe effects.

No, my sky is never just blue. However, I try to remain open to suggestions, ideas, opinions, solutions and discussions. We eventually reach an agreement, one of us will back down or we'll just "agree to disagree" and let the matter drop…for now.

He says that I am a "woman with strong opinions."

He is right.

Luckily he finds this to be an attractive trait — most of the time.

I think that I am an excellent communicator. He is better at expressing how he feels. Most of the time our two very different approaches complement each other.

The rest of the time, well, that's how we recently ended up with an unexpected color and texture of mulch that I am sure will grow on me as the mulch and I both age a little. (Besides, mulch doesn't last forever, right?)

Haaaaaaaa...I was wondering about that mulch. May the cerulean bird of happiness forever fly above your happy home. Question..if he is better at expressing how he feels, you're better at expressing what you think? Is that it? I guess together you are whole.
LOL, my husband thinks I'm arguing when I take the time to:
"discuss, troubleshoot, brainstorm, plan and elaborate" too. Husbands just don't understand, do they?
