This morning's outage

Rate: 9 Flag

Hi, everyone. Just wanted to quickly apologize for this morning's site outage. Now, obviously, we're back up and running and good as new after some hard work from our tech team.

Thanks for your patience. We know these outages can be annoying, and we are really working to make them a thing of the past.

I thought the badly needed time out was attributable to divine intervention.
I figured it was just because everyone was behaving so badly.
no worries. glad it's back up
Judy! What have YOU been up to?
gewesen sein muss all dem Staub... or at least low lithium batteries.
it probably saved some lives.
funny how things work (or don't) sometimes.
I missed it. :) Mr Bean had a dr appointment and I had to go buy kibble.

Glad things are up and running though.
Hurray!! I'm glad the Tech Team rebooted the server aka shook the Etch-a-Sketch to clear the memory!! ;)

**Wanders away**
It transported us into a new dimension.
I misread, and thought this was "This Morning's Outrage."
no problem....but I admit I read your post quickly and thought you'd written "outrage." Indeed...
I also at first read the title as "This morning's outrage" and thought, "Oh god, what now?" after this weekend....
By the way, can anything be done to limit those spamsters who disguise themselves as OS regulars? SWIMSUITS!!! NIKES!!!

You get my drift.
old new lefty, ahhh come on my friend, we must embrace them, they write better than I do, and people...what do you mean there's a petition to get me banned??

**runs away in tears**
I pulled an all-nighter writing this last night to make today's 10 a.m. dead-line for the Salon Kitchen Challenge and hit publish, ("Truly Jumbo Shrimp with Gorgonzola Grits and Steamed Okra").
Minutes later, for the second time this a.m., open salon either crashed or was taken down again for maintenance.
I went to a well-earned rest from my labors only upon awakening around 5 p.m. to find that the article that I'd thought to be safely ensconced in the open Salon server, on-time and in contention, was now found to be still in my blogs previews and though clearly noting the date and time refused even now to upload on command, returning the dreaded "can't find this content!" error message.
I finally just copied and pasted myself to this post, ("Truly Jumbo Shrimp with Gorgonzola Grits and Steamed Okra 2", the deja vu version, unchanged in any other regard).
Cest la vetch!
Great job!
How about not being able to post comments on someone's blog? Or why do we get those annoying virus-scan pop up ads?
I thought they only happened at 4am.
It did feel like some kind of intervention. I wasn't quite ready to admit my addiction and went a bit cukoo! A bit of an eyeopener, though....breathe, one, two, three....
I learned 2 things this morning:

1) I have to make offline copies of my posts so I can at least stare at the comments during outages, and
2) Facebook is an incredibly poor substitute!
technology is a bear. Some days I wish all CPUs had but one neck. ooh the thrashing that would ensue.
Actually Tinkertink, we've upgraded from Etch-a-Sketch to Magna-doodle for the server.
In my today's cartoon I thought was the crisis...
I thought it was that switch I threw in the garage....

thanks Judy!!...
Icelandic volcano. Obvious cause.
