I hope you can see

there is no other for me.

I wanted you to be mine

as long as the stars do shine.

but you said you couldn't stay

you had to go away.

Even though we had to part

you will always be in my heart.

As we kissed good by

I started to cry.

Now its been so long

since you've been gone.

I wish I could hold you agin

but instead a new life I'll begin

Talk about very late here. I happened to see what amounted to a plea on Fernsy's post....saw the word "poetry" and snuck over.
I am glad I did.
Mary is right....good byes are not fun.
