I'm a diver too. I don't get to do it as much as I would like. On my last trip my wife and I took our 14 year old son down to Cozumel to do his open water certification. He's got his own PADI (Jr. Diver) card now. We drift dived the Palancar Reef then did some shore entry dives near the hotel pier. The last hurricane really tore up the reef, scoured it. Worse, most of the island hotels on the southwest leeward side were ripped to pieces and a lot of the room furnishings wound up in the water and sank on the reef. The Cozumel dive boat operators were diving for trash for almost a year. There were mattresses, carpet, window drapes, and you-name-it all over the bottom. I hear the coral is just now starting to come back. But it will probably never be the same. The Caribbean reef system is suffering badly from pollution and abuse. Nice fish pics.
How do you deal with the cold? A friend of mine seized up with fear when she tried to take her diving certification test there and I've thought since that I would only dive -- if I ever learn -- in more welcoming tropical waters....
