On a sweet note, here’s something I thought I’d share with you!
I went for a walk with my 7-year-old niece this weekend. And as we were walking along a busy street, we talked about how much trash was littering the grass. We talked about the environment and the animals who lived there, and how it wasn’t fair for us people to leave trash on their homes.
And when I say we talked, I mean she led the conversation! (I think!) Our kids are always so in sync with the real needs of our world and people, and it’s a joy to hear their unrestrained enthusiasm for what our real work is!
So the Universe provided us with a plastic grocery bag among the trash, of course! And we used that to gather what else we could as we continued on our walk. (Much of this trash had been brought there by recent floods. I had already picked up some by the creek once it returned to normal, low levels. But there’s always more to do–even now!)
I talked with my niece about how easy it would be to get a group of people together to pick up litter. And her older sister already has a long-standing track record of giving to different people and animals in need.
So, as we picked up this trash and headed back home, she asked me if I had ever done anything bad.
I responded with a sigh, “Oh, by accident, I have. But not on purpose. I wouldn’t want to do that.”
“Oh no, you wouldn’t want to do something bad on purpose,” she replied. She thought on it seriously for a moment, and then she had an idea.
“Maybe you’re going to grow up to be an angel!”
“Maybe we all are going to grow up to be angels!” I laughed.
Maybe we all are! Wouldn’t that be nice?!

Loving the angels within all of us! (And especially the kids!)

Hi, Linda! So true -- I Know you Know this! And the closer I listen, the purer and clearer she is! Just wow!
Love to you both, and to everyone out there!
Yes, Anne! She is so Lovely and spirited and bright and kind! Such good company!!
Love to you both, my good friends here! Happy Day!
Goodness to me is Eleanor Roosevelt.
And it was all from her perspective! She's the one! We all Know kids come up with the funniest things, but it's still amazing! And entertaining!
Reminds me of that Wordsworth quote:
"we come into the world trailing clouds of glory"....
to nourish it, as you do with your niece,
is perhaps the greatest gift
you can give....
I'm curious, julie: how do you picture angels?
Were they ever human? Hm...
Such a good question. If All That Is is Consciousness, and our reality here a mere play of reflection of Light difracted from itself so we can Know this world and ultimately Know ourselves in this experience -- and if there are an infinite number of Universes, something we can't fathom from this human perspective, even with science, great minds, mysticism, Oneness, Knowing, etc., -- then yes, I believe it is conceivable that we could be angels -- and that they could be us! It would be all about choices we make from the point of view of our eternal Self at any given point!
Angels reside in the Higher dimensions and serve as mediators/communicators between the Eternal (Other Side) and our physical dimensions, and vice versa, without actually incarnating here. Our eternal Self, all a part of Consciousness, would be able to do that as well, yes?
There's always more, but it's a thought to begin with, perhaps!
So much Love and gratitude to you, wise and thoughtful One! Julie
Patty -- Yes, it's a wonderful age! So young and so full of wisdom, too! You should hear her!
Love to you both, as always! Julie
Many moons ago, a woman showed up at our Quaker meeting. She wanted to see what it was about, and was a bit confused by the circle, the silence, the lack of direction, the lack of rules (from her POV, anyhow). So, she pulled me aside after meeting when we have coffee or juice and cookies and TALK, and asked me some questions. One was, How are you supposed to know the difference between right and wrong? And,I replied, I think we all know the difference between right and wrong. But it is up to you to decide how to choose. She wasn't pleased with that.
I truly believe that our time now is about finding this Divinity within -- and not in ceding our personal authority to others outside of ourself. There is no "power base" when it comes to God/Source/our Universe. And I also believe that's what Jesus taught, as well -- direct communion with our Source.
We can easily look around and find problems with how it's working when we give our personal power to others -- but I'm sure we'll be taking our self-empowerment back! (I won't even mention the Congressional hearings happening right now...)
Great to see you here! And Love to you, of course! Julie
Aldous Huxley once wrote , quite paradoxically,
that the reason for having free will
is to give it up to the Will of God...!
I agree: always hold onto personal integrity,
don't let others' influence taint it...but...
personal Divinity blends into the universe,
and conscious focal vision can't always reach it...
so...it is almost as if in our "fallen state"
we must trust in an Other
(still our Self, ultimately)
as an act of trust in our
own integrity...
We are far far larger than we know...or feel...
what beats our heart? digests our food? for example....
we must make that leap of faith into the "objective"
with full confidence it is always "subjective"...Us!
I meant not giving our power over to other people, of course! But didn't actually say so in direct response to Christine, so my mistake! The old models based on power structures that place some people above others -- whether in the secular world, or spiritually, in terms of authority -- are really meant to give way to all of us Knowing we are All, as some have always practiced...
And that time is now, as we choose it, which is lending itself to some chaos and confusion out there...
But as anyone who has tasted it can attest to, it's really the Truth, the way of things when we aren't "just" here! And it's wonderful!
Loveliest of conversations here, I feel! Love the words and thoughts and ideas, and the Spirit flowing through it all!
Happy Day to everyone! Love, Julie
One of my mother's neighbors laughed at us, happily, of course: "Wait -- you're not -- you're picking up garbage?"
"Yes, we are. And look -- we even found a bag to put it in!" I laughed back.
What's not to make your day?! Love and thanks to you, always! Julie
