Bio
I'm a 60 year old guy who lives in Vista California with my wife. I spent the 30 years before moving to Cali in Iowa, Wisconsin and North Dakota. And I have 2 grown children, a son and a daughter who live in Nebraska and Iowa and a 22 year old step-daughter lives with us here in Vista. I'm a proud grandpa with 2 grandaughters living in Nebraska. I like to write about a whole variety of things from my kids to cooking to politics to the car industry to my status as a "Cheap Bastid" and "Old Fart" and just random thoughts. And I really love writing about cooking really good, homecooked comfort food cheap. That's why they call me the Cheap Bastid. By the way--all the stuff I write is my stuff and you can't use it without my official OkeyDokey

Deck The Halls--best music of the season (so far)

Rate: 14 Flag

I just got this video from a old friend of mine named Jon Lange.  Jon now runs the Y in Missoula, Montana in case any of you are from around there (then you could look him up because he's one of the all-time good guys).

Anyway he posted this video on Facebook.  It's really, really cool and is from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management.  'Nuff said.  Enjoy.

(and hey, leave a comment or something please just to say "hi, bye or up yours" thanks)

Finally a flash mob with purpose. Happy Christmas Walt.
Excellent and hugs to you Walter
Thanks for sharing. How music is really the best of all things with out being something material.
The acoustics in the space must be amazing. Im going to watch it again. Thanks!
Loved it, shared on FB. Even an appearance from the Golden Gopher!!
Bob--thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. And Happy Christmas to "you and yours"

Linda--Thanks. God knows I can use some hugs these days.

Algis--I couldn't agree with you more. Other than my kids the thing I miss most about Christmas is the music--performing like these youngsters. It's been 7 years since my last stint in a church choir performing on Christmas Eve.

Zanelle--Thanks. And yes, I noticed the same thing. Although I think there must have been some pick-up mikes somewhere in the slightly less than spontaneous performance.

Keri--thanks. Glad you shared it on FB (which is where I got it). It makes a terrific FB Christmas present.
I loved this Walt and Merry Christmas to you, my friend.
David--Thanks. It's a struggle this year, but we're trying.
Thanks for the music : )
This has been such a tough year -- I'm glad you are sharing some good cheer. Who needs more tales of miserable holidays? Honestly.
JustThinking--Thanks and you're right. This has been a exceptionally tough season. The last several years have seen some tough economic times but not as bleak or depressing as this year for some reason.
Nice!! Really!!!

Toritto--Thanks, I just played the video again and got another one of those Christmas smiles. Hope you got one too!
Musica est cibus pro anima; sic transit gloria mundi.

Thank you for feeding my soul, Walt.
R♥
FuSun--have a wonderful holiday!
Thank you. Too cool, too good an arrangement!

Ash--I agree, this was an incredible arrangement of traditional and modern harmonics. A little bit of church choir and a little bit of "Glee"
Thank you so much for sharing. Loved the energy, upbeat rhythm and the sense of fun.
f'ing cool.. best to you and yours on and around the holidays W
Awesome!! Music, the universal language, and priceless. Rated!!
Hi, Bye, and Up Yours. Merry Christmas my cheap friend~~(neatest Xmas video I've seen yet)
I wish I would've seen this before Christmas! Flash mobs are so interesting to me ~ I've only been witness to one in Madison during a rally ~ but it was nothing like this! Unbelievable, I kept wondering how it would've felt to be among the few sitting in the chairs right in front of the whole mob...like being in the front row of a concert you'd pay big bucks for!
