There is a fascination with sunsets.
It is the end of the day; the beginning of the night.
It is an illumination of all life beginnings, transitions, emerging light becoming shades of deeper, softer, dimming colors of every day.
It sweetens our senses, colors our moods, allows our energy to settle into calmness that is the dimming light into our darkened nights.
It is a marker for our curiosity and wonder of the universe.
It is a childlike expression of "why" and "how" it disappears behind the clouds, merging with the horizon, only to fade from sight.
It is a deep sigh of relief that we can then begin the process of letting go, relaxing, finding comfort in the evening's inactivity, if we wisely choose.
It is a destination to be where we will have the best vantage point to "catch the sunset."
It is the only common focal point for the best photo 'op' on our vacation.

It is the moment we let go of our daily routines, multi-tasking, working too many hours, pushing the limits to the max, wishing there were more hours in the day, needing the refuge of the sunset to calm our nerves and to settle down.
It is nature's bath of light and color that reminds us that there are unexplained mysteries for us to accept and enjoy.
It is the time of day to remember who we are and that we need to find special time for ourselves to languish in for our sense of renewal.
The sunset is a daily gift and a time to pause and take in it's beauty, serenity and promise of rejuvenation.
It is simply spectacular in it's changes of color affected by weather, seasons, proximity to the equator, giving each one it's unique character and light display of indescribable variations of color and light.
A sunset is both exciting and calming.
It is the universe's best work of art to appreciate, using only the sky, the sun, clouds and time as it's canvas.
Tonight's sunset - coral, lavender, peachy wonderful sight, disappearing behind the mountains, the tall pine trees and the blue sky, inspired me deeply, filling me with peace and a desire to share it's simplicity in our complex world.
Go catch the sunset as often as you can.
It is simply a sunset and simply a must.

Sometimes it's just the heart stuff that needs to be put out there with all the rest of the daily news, activities and rushing through life.
I get my therapy from nature most of all.
Still thinking about your potatoe post!
My stomach is growling!
