Magical Christmas Trees from Around the World

Rate: 31 Flag

Christmas trees - 3 colorful trees

I wish I could say that I have been to all of the following cities and places where magic happens every Christmas.  It's just nice to know that this tradition exists and is proudly displayed in many parts of the world.

Above are 3 pristine beauties in an undisclosed location.

No matter our family traditions, religious faith or holiday style, a lighted Christmas tree has a magical effect on people throughout the world.

In a real way, during the winter season, it is a timely reminder of universal magic which lies within the hearts of man, near and far.

The spirit of the Christmas season can touch us in ways that the rest of the year cannot.  It can be surprisingly happy or unbearably sad and lonely.

It is a time for reaching out to our family, friends and communities, to spread a little magic, good cheer and kindness to others.

It is transformative and capable of effecting change from within ourselves and the deepest part of our hearts.

It is a time to celebrate life, both new and old, the lives of earth's population and the life we possess so briefly.

It is a celebration of all this is magical, pure and without malice.

It is a time to see all the good in ourselves and in the world.

A time to give thanks and focus on love.

Whether you light a tree or celebrate Christmas or not, find the light in yourselves and the gift that is you.

My wish is for us all to find a little magic this holiday season.

Lovely, Cathy. I enjoyed this very much.
These are great, Cathy! I used to be quite a stickler about having a real tree every year, but I'm starting to appreciate eye-catching fake trees more. That Venetian glass tree is splendid.
These are just beautiful! I love the first and the last the best--and the Venetian glass one is stunning.
beautiful sentiments in prose and picture. I really like Moscow. ~R~
I'm really digging on the tree "somewhere in the woods." They are all beautiful, but I'd like to think that one is happier.
:-)
In Russia, all the tree decorations are red. Just for the memory.
Lovely compilation JC. R
Gorgeous. thank you.
In my house it was called the "Hanukkah Bush"
Itlaian Mother - Jewish Father

You are all very welcome, one and all. I love to pay homage to the glorious Christmas tree as do so many across the globe. Amazing, isn't it?!

vzn - I do not know where this photo was taken but it sure could be Colorado or possibly Europe. A friend emailed this to me.

All your comments are wonderful and I enjoyed putting this together to share. There is a "show and tell" element to our community and I love this concept in which can indulge ourselves with an appreciative audience.

Thoth - What can I say?! You honor me with your comment and I felt myself blush!
Sing it with me now...

"You've made me so.. very happy..."
:-) so beautiful and inspiring!
I didn't look at first because I don't do this anymore and i thought it mught be too painful. But it was not at all; it was just lovely. Thanks Cathy XO
Lovely post. I like the Madrid one and the one by the chapel in Germany.
May I offer you some eggnog while we watch the lights?
ladyfarmerjed - Yes! I'll take my egg nog with a splash of Jack Daniels!

Kellylark - ;) xo
And wishing you a warm and cozy holiday season filled with tons of magic and joy.
There is something so beautiful about an outdoor tree covered in lights, although the glass tree in Venice is pretty spectacular. Thanks for this.
Love the way you think about Christmas. It truly is a magical time of year and welcomed to be enjoyed by all of any faith or no faith at all. It saddens me that the sentiments aren't carried throughout the year.
Pretty! Me want all of them. The glass one is really cool. You light up my life like those trees. Thanks for this, Cathy. xoxoxoxo
Thanks, Cathy! Here's to a love-filled holiday season for you and yours. xxxooo
Great! I am trying like blazes to find a Stainless Steel tree, but not the shaved, tin foil thin kind, but solid and sheet stainless.Anyone know what I might get one?
Cathy, beautiful pictures and thoughts. You know me, I loved the first one with those colorful bright trees, my colors for sure. Thanks so much for such a beautiful message. Rated (yesterday).
Sisters!
Joan - You are too sweet! Love your reference to Dad's favorite song! You are such a light in my life as well! You know you always have been! xoxo
Mary - Somehow I knew that first photo would resonate for you! My fave as well! Looks like it might have been taken in Colorado, who knows?! xoxo
Nicely done in a world where the Politicly Correct nitwits of the world are slowly trying to destroy the Christmas Tree, likening it on to burning a cross on some ones lawn... Glad to see some one can still appreciate them as what they are... Beautiful.
Keep it up.
Priest1913 - Thanks much for your thoughts. It is music to my ears.
Thanks for coming to my blog!
Great pics, Cathy. There's nothing like a Christmas tree to warm a Pagan heart.
tomfish - Thanks for finding this year old post! I was thinking of reposting this but never got around to it! I love these special trees from around the world, and believe it or not, only ONE of these is not real! The colorful glass one from Venice. It is cool to see how much of the world celebrates this season and embodies its decorative elements around a beautiful piece of nature's own art. Love the simplicity of layering lots of small white lights in garland fashion, top to bottom, of a tall, fat, thick, proud pine. Thanks for bringing me back here to relive this writing and photos of such lovely trees. And, there is nothing wrong with the non-real variety, which I will not refer to as (fake). They too are symbolic of everything we cherish about the season, sans the strong scent of the mighty noble fir. I love the smell the most. Have a very happy new year.
