YESTERDAY
I was younger.
Had parents who loved me.
Had a pay check.
Had my whole life ahead of me.
Thought growing up was painfully slow.
Preferred playing with boys in the street.
Hated dolls.
Loved shiny shoes.
Prayed daily for peace.
Emmulated my mother.
Tried smoking.
Was fearless.
Evolving.
TODAY
I am older, sometimes wiser, sometimes not.
Grateful for every day I wake up and rest my head on my pillow each night.
I notice every phase of the moon.
Relish in every nuance of change, surprise, awareness.
Take fewer vitamins and eat better.
Moisturize my feet.
Breathe deeper.
Sing and dance again.
Create patterns of lightness.
Laugh easily at myself.
Treat others with ultimate compassion and empathy.
Listen.
Miss my parents terribly.
Value their legacy.
Nurture the present.
TOMORROW
A gift and a blessing I never take for granted.
A new day to embrace and live to the fullest.
A time to play, to learn, love, giggle, laugh at pain.
Turn loss into opportunity.
Mourn the dead and dying while celebrating all they taught me while here.
Plan less; allow the unexpected.
Teach my children gently while they choose their own path.
Keep my mind and heart wide open, for all are welcome in peace.
Clean my house of excess; cherish simplicity.
Have the vision, hope and optimism that tomorrow will come.
Yesterday...a ripple in the waves; something that was and is no more.
Today...the rhythm, the beat, the music of my existence.
Tomorrow...the future that is neither possessed nor guaranteed, yet longed for.
Yesterday was my time to grow, make mistakes, learn from the combustion of years leading up to now.
Today is my reality of what I am and have chosen for myself.
Tomorrow is my chance to grow and learn anew; never stop at what was. Never accept limits or fullness of experience, as each new day opens a door to vast, unforseen possibilities.
Growth * Acceptance * Vision
Yesterday we discovered.
Today we embrace fully.
If we are truly wise, we will love like there is no tomorrow.

Pawed, indeed.
Rated for glamorous.
That's if Ya need cash for a trainer bra.
This isn't in any way an impure gesture.
My Granddaughter at five - wants a bra.
Just Cathy, I'm Just a boy - O love today!
I know you'll have a terrific year.
Happy Healthy New Year to you and yours! (And tell your Man to wear proper boots when he insists he's gotta go mountain climbing!)
Yes, very wise words - Loving now is the key.
Here's to an Amazing 2010!
Your words are a beautiful reflection on life, love, hope and dreams. May the new year brings fulfillment of all those things for you.

This is the first writing of yours that I have read. What a place to start!
Beautifully economical with words. I need to work on not "overwriting." What a great example this is. Just potent, every line!
Thanks! Rated.

The support and friendship engendered here is above and beyond any words that come to mind, other than to say, you are all so appreciated and a real and meaningful part of my life.
Before OS, I spent a great deal of time thinking, pondering, analyzing, loosing sleep with an overactive mind. Finding the OS, thanks to my sister, Mary, about 17 months ago, I have taken that over active imagination and turned it into written thought. It has proven to be a vital and creative outlet for me. The friendships made here have been the icing on the cake! Thanks and big bear hugs to all of you!
The old saying that "life is what happens while you are planning it" makes a lot of sense to me.
Happy New Year, Cathy. May God pour many blessings on you and yours this year.
